Anti-Domain Tasting Proposed by ICANN

ICAAN (the Internet corporation for assigned names and numbers)  proposed an absolutely new policy. The aim of this policy is to stop individuals from domain name tasting. This will enable domain name registrars stop refunds on about 10 percent of its domains.
The advantage of domain name tasting is that individuals can register a domain, keep it for several days, and then return it for refund. Dishonest operators test these domains whether the advertising profit costs their yearly registration.
Such practice withholds billions of domain names from the market, and makes advertisers pay for adverts on empty pages visited by mistake. Operators earn millions of dollars through pay-per-click ads clicked by people mistakenly.
According to the new policy, the top level domain operators will be able to refund 10 percent of the registered domain names.

Growth Plan Released by Yahoo!

Yahoo! disclosed a three-year growth plan. It was presented in December 2007. The plan increases revenue and affiliate payments up to $8.8 billion, the operating cash flow from $1.8 billion to $3.6 billion by 2010. Experts are concerned that the release of the plan is an attempt to make Microsoft raise the price of the offers.
